View North from Pansy Lake Trail - Pansy Lake is below those trees
Pansy Lake trail
An interesting little lizard sunning himself on the rocks
Pansy mountain - you can see the start of the burn damage at the top
Some of the burn damage from the 2011 fire
Approching the burn area from the Welcome Lakes trail
It is pretty much charcoal - almost like another planet
Welcome Lakes trail through the burn area - amazingly the rhodies and huckleberries are already starting to grow!
Welcome Lakes campsite - I camped here with Carly a few years ago
What is left of the welcome lakes camp sign
What is left of the West Lake Way trail sign (it was sitting on a log a ways from the trail)
Amazingly enough, this trail sign survived intact - it is the way we came down from Pansy Lake
The trail sign on the continuation of 554 down to Elk Lake
This was really interesting - we saw it in many trees - it was sap, but it was red colored. It almost looked like the trees had bled.
Lower Welcome Lake (the larger lake) - there were spots of green around the lake- but not much
This part of the trail almost looks normal!
Some more islands of green
A lone lily in the midst of devastation
Back in the unburnt area - West Lake
View from overlook above west lake
SNOW!!! Next to the trail!
Beautiful Mt Jefferson
Mt Hood from Bull of the Woods Lookout
3 Finger Jack and the 3 Sisters
This doesn't even begin to capture the beauty of all the blooming wildflowers!
That was supposed to show an insulator with wire still in it - I missed the insulator!!!!
